What’s BFD? How Does it Work?

1 min read
BFD

For Network devices (routers, switches, etc) that are not directly connected to each other, cannot detect failures that may occur on the path between them, Bi-directional forwarding detection – BFD can support network devices to rapidly detect remote failures at milliseconds interval by being bounded to network protocols to rapidly notify them about discovered failures to minimise packet drops.

In this video, we discuss what is BFD, why it’s used, how it can work.
